As another week draws to a close, it's time for another rummage through the Xbox Sales to see what goodies we can find. With discounts on games and DLC across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, there is plenty to choose from. Strap in, and let's see where this budget adventure will take us.

Heidi — Jurassic World Evolution (and also maybe Jurassic World Evolution 2)

Ok, you might be sick of me talking about dinosaurs, I might be sick of me talking about dinosaurs (not really), but having looked through the latest sale, the games I've enjoyed the most and come back to most often would be Jurassic World Evolution and Jurassic World Evolution 2. Admittedly, neither at first quite offered what we were hoping for — something of a cross between Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis and Prehistoric Kingdom on Xbox — and after many updates, still have their fair share of limitations, but they are still nevertheless a whole lot of fun, which makes them a great pick for 75% off. At full price, you might be more cautious with what you were hoping to get, but under £10 for the first game is great if what you're looking for is a highly enjoyable management/sim game where everything is all about dinosaurs. Keep them in a dino sanctuary or unleash them on your unsuspecting guests; you can go either way in these games. I think overall Jurassic World Evolution is still my favorite over its sequel, but everything does look even better in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and there are a lot of cool additions in the second game. I was wondering about Lonesome Village for my pick this week, but I still need to make my mind up on whether I'd recommend that one at 30% off or wait until a deeper discount. In the meantime, Jurassic World Evolution is hard to stop playing once you boot it up. In short: dinos? Check! Sim/management fun/chaos? Check! Under £10? Check! Sounds pretty good to me!

If you're having a stressful day and you need a game to relax with, you'll want to pick up the delightful underwater adventure game Abzu. In Abzu, you play as a diver who descends into the dark depths of the ocean to uncover ancient secrets forgotten by many. On your descent, you will gracefully swim and glide through gorgeous underwater seascapes that are teaming with fish and other sea life, forming powerful connections as you go. It's a very simple game, that doesn't demand much, other than asking you to complete a few light puzzles and to enjoy the ride — if you've played Journey or Flower on PlayStation (the art director of those two directed Abzu), you'll know what to expect. The Abzu achievements are also very easy and shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours to complete. You can pick up Abzu this week for $6.99/£5.59/€6.99

Tom — Blood Bowl 2

This week, I've found a few games I think are great pickups, but I wanted to write about something different. After playing Blood Bowl 3 and coming away disappointed, its predecessor, Blood Bowl 2, continues to be one of the best fantasy football games on Xbox. I've not played for a huge number of hours, but certainly, enough to be able to recommend it as a far better choice over the current state of Blood Bowl 3.

Blood Bowl 2 is Warhammer's equivalent of American football, offering you to smash your way through tournaments with a fantasy team comprising of Orcs, Goblins, Undead, Wood Elves, High Elves, Skaven, and more. Many of the races and teams are blocked behind DLC, so picking up the Legendary Edition for $5.99 / £4.99 / €5.99, which includes every bit of DLC, is well worth it. If you enjoy Games Workshop's tabletop game or turn-based strategy games that regularly slap you in the face with dodgy dice rolls, Blood Bowl 2 is worth your consideration, I think. In fact, all you really need is a small interest in giving High Elves a well-deserved beatdown, and you're halfway there!]

Blood Bowl 2
