    Yes, you can play both versions on the same console. The Xbox one version will still be the Xbox one version on the X/S.

    If a game has a separate Xbox One and Series version you can stack them on the Series. If the game is "Smart Delivery" (might not have the label but still use it) aka it only has one installer icon and the system decides which one to install then you can't play the One version on Series.

    I was going to go into more detail, but he asked about stacking them. Since games with smart delivery only have one achievement list (AKA no stacking), it didn't seem necessary.
