there have been better examples like Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary which includes game and all DLC for £4, plus Witcher 3 GOTY for £6, together cheaper than a month of GPU but gives months of gaming.
Or maybe, I don’t give absolutely any care about Games With Gold, or whatever games they give me. Buying one game that used to be on Game Pass, for more than half the price of Game Pass, and saying it’s a better deal, is fundamentally asinine. You don’t like Game Pass, which is fine. But there is no way that one game would be a better value than over 100.

I do like GP but not at the cost of losing GWG. GWG is the root / core Xbox subscription service. Without GWG, GP has no foundation, it is nothing but a lost cause, and waste of money.
If games given out in GWG were better likethe quality in PS+ you would care for Games with Gold

Wtf are you talking about root core of Xbox. Xbox gamepass is clearly Microsoft’s focus and all resources are being moved to that. Gwg going away won’t affect Xbox or gamepass in the slightest. Game pass is not a “waste of money”. You get every first title day one at no additional cost, a catalog of hundreds of games, and additional games added to the service every single week it feels like. You are the delusional one here
GP is definitely a waste of money when games like Chorus are no longer in GP, but have no choice now but to buy it. If Chorus went into GWG instead then you would not need to buy it.
You sub to play games like Chorus for £12.99 then have to buy it for £8.74. That is a waste of money, when could just sub to Gold for £6.99 or less if sub annually and no need to buy it, if went into GWG instead of GP. GP is for suckers.
Counter point - you do not actually own any GwG offerings now (360 games being the exception, but no longer offered), they are merely permanent rentals since as soon as you let your Gold expire they are no longer playable. So you are STILL beholden to a monthly fee in order to play that game which also has little to no replay value in your specific example. At least Game Pass you get new games when older ones in the service cycle out....and those STILL go on sale if you feel the need to pick it up again. And there is even Microsoft Rewards that you can use to buy it so it cost you nothing.
Also you give a false equivalency in your Game Pass bashing. That Game Pass subscription fee covers hundreds of games, not just the one you are cherry-picking for an example, so it is not fair to say you subscribed for just that game while complaining that you have to buy it in order to finish when removed (which you are typically given fair warning of when it occurs). And games do cycle back in so if you are too cheap to actually buy it, you can try to wait for it to reappear and finish it up. Point is that monthly fee is NOT for just one game as you are attempting to paint in in order to bolster your rant's relevance, which is a false equivalency as I mentioned.
Game Pass is no more for "suckers" than Live Gold/GwG was....which neither fall into that category to be quite honest. I am sad to see the GwG leave the service (and hope they go out with a bang, but certainly not holding my breath on that one given the recent history of the service). What really gets me though is now the Ultimate Game Pass option is now downgraded by losing those "free" games per month - perks removed and not replaced nor a reduction in price for the service (and actually increasing in areas outside of the US). That is my biggest beef with the impending change.
I'm glad someone else noticed him cherry picking examples to prove a point. If we cherry picked in a counter argument we could just say "We will be playing Starfield on day one while you are playing the horrible game The Deer God from GWG that came out 8 years ago"
