Darkwood and Silent Hill HD Collection too
Silent Hill HD coll is a terrible port collection

Should rather go for Downpour or even Homecoming
Silent Hill 2 is still an amazing experience tho (haven't touched 3 yet, but I've heard it's the inferior game in general and also the worse of the two ports)

It isn't bad, people slander it because it didn't live up to the expectations they had of it in their head. For a game that was almost completely scrapped out of existence after it was finished with, it's a really good port. Silent Hill 3 is still good! Maybe not as good in comparison to 2, but it's a solid title, just has a bit of a different vibe. I cannot discourage anyone from playing SH2. Collection or not, it's an amazing game.

    So, are we
Visage sees us taking control of Dwayne Anderson
    or are we
    Johnson committed suicide
? Is the author a Dwayne Johnson fan? Did Dwayne Johnson kill himself for a videogame role? I need answers!

If your best horror games list doesn’t include Condemned, it is wrong.

Yes Condemned was creepy. Also Deadly Premonition had me freaked out.
Don't bro me if you don't know me.

A very solid list, though I do agree with the L4D2 > L4D1 crowd. Outside of that, you grabbed a solid list with all the right items in the series.

I would personally throw Resident Evil 7 into the scrum. Playing it now, and only about 1/3 of the way through (best guess at least), but its been ABSOLUTELY fantastic so far.

Also, Amnesia: Justine > Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Fight me!

Where’s dead by daylight? Been playing it recently and it’s an amazing multiplayer horror game. It’s also the most popular horror game at the moment as well.
I have a buddy who asks me to start it for 2 years. Finally said I would and did back in August. Not a single regret either I love it! Put in well over 100 hours since late August. Fantastic horror game that will get the blood pumping.
The doom of a Planet....Crush Punch!!!

Can't really argue with this list, as it's very solid. The only change I would make is to swap out Dead Space 2 for the original. While I think that 2 is the better game, I feel that the first game had a greater focus on horror, and introduced us to the horrors of the necromorphs. Also, it's worth buying a quality headset to fully experience Alien Isolation...the sheer dread brought up in me from that game, is unmatched.
    We meet again, Trebek.

I HATED Visage. I love horror games, but didn’t really need to see you shoot your wife and child in the face the very first scene. Even after that I decided to play it through and found it to be boring and have terrible controls. Running down hallways trying to escape where anything that touches you is a one hit kill was especially annoying, mainly when the direction you need to go is blocked with no way through (had to keep playing it over until it wasn’t blocked since spawns are random).

I found hellblade quite eerie myself and it's a quality game, surprised that's not there

visage, lul. game was incredibly boring and the furthest thing from "scary"

As someone that's creeped out pretty easily, games like Dead Space (a real masterpiece imo) or Resi 2, basically anything that contains a good amount of action/shooting is enough to keep me entertained. I want to play Soma for ages now and it's sitting there, installed. Even with that "de-aggro enemies" option I hesitate to play it. So i guess that's where I draw the line personally.

Take a person with thalassophobia (fear of deep water) and let them play Subnautica and they'll pee their pants guaranteed. I was terrified. I also hate mannequins and puppets so no Condemned for me.
However I love games with an eerie undertone or a certain mystery to them. Very much even. Hellblade, Limbo, Inside, Little Nightmares, Distraint, even BioShock...the list goes on. What's scary for someone is so massively subjective, I can't even complain about this list even though I think half of them aren't "scary horror games".
    But yeah, happy Halloween everyone.
    Have a nice day

Yeah, in terms of pure horror RE7 is way above RE2. I'd even put REmake above it for that particular comparison, can't beat a creepy old mansion full of ghoulies

    Also where is Alan Wake!?

Am I the only one in the world who thought that Left 4 Dead was horribly overrated? I played it for a week and never picked it up again.

Maybe I just want games that work on innovative AI instead of Tower Defense in first-person.
I was born to take it easy.

3 is a better game to play, 2 has a better story. People fall in love with 2's twist at the end (which is amazing,) but the puzzles, combat, and atmosphere are much better in 3. Also, good luck getting the green hyper spray.

Think I’m gonna finally start finishing off bioshock 2, a decently spooky game that has some boring collectible achievements but it’s all required for that 100% so needs to be done, other game series I plan on starting today is outlast trilogy a game known as some to be a walking sim but at least it has jump scares lol

I only found it fun playing split screen co-op. Once my wife was bored of playing it with me, (which happened relatively quickly), I lost interest as well.
If you have to ask, you're streets behind.
