Anybody know if I transfer my GTA Online progress to the Series X version of the game, will that wipe it progress for the Xbox One version of the game? I thought about doing tot to autopop some of the achievements but idk if it’s a one way transfer
Yeah, it will. Once you transfer, there’s no going back without creating a new character.
Not anymore. Rockstar Games updated migrating your profile for Grand Theft Auto Online recently.

“Once your progress has been transferred from PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, your migrated profile will be retained on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. GTA Online progress made on different console generations will not be synced after migration.”

why couldn't they have changed that a few months earlier, come on...
Yeah i had mine transferred after completing the original and JP stack, but had to create another character and level up for a while in order to help some friends with the doomsday mastermind.
Wish they had the good sense to allow keeping your character since the Series version released, not this late into it.

GTA V is for X1 and GTA Online for XS right?
Is story mode included in the 102GB of GTAO?

guarantee itll be gone in 6 months again. hey make the most while its there ay? :)
You bet! And since the online migration deletes your characters on last gen, once it leaves the service if you own only the xbo version you're screwed and will need to buy it again if you want to continue playing on your save.
Strange that it works this way. When the Xbox One versions of Borderlands came out, Gearbox introduced a character upload/dload feature and it didn't delete your save files/characters in the 360/BC versions of the game.

I agree with you. Rockstar Games should have migrated the profiles for Grand Theft Auto Online when they first implemented the feature.

This is a bit deceiving as only GTAO is showing as the Series X|S version.

It is included. Funny how they made online as main game and story mode as add on now in this version.

I'd play it if it werent' for the heist BS. Not going to do that stupidity when i played the 360 version in it's glitchy launch state as it was.

Oh this isnt on cloud play, huh? Damn i just like to hop on every once in a while and drive aroubd but I would really like to use that 100GB for something else. 😞
Xbox One version is fully Cloud-able and from the Series it seems only Story Mode.

Wait, friends say GTAO has separate lobbies! shock So I should play the old gen 30fps version? Guess I'll wait the 19$ X1-XS Cross-Play DLC laugh

Just passing by to say that recently i helped some friends get the mastermind on the X1 version, after having done it myself one year prior, and the achievement is much easier now:
    - Preps can be done on private matches, no need to deal with public lobbies anymore.
    - New update that lets you run by holding instead of tapping makes movement better and faster (ymmv)
    - You can now heal with snacks and armor by holding the weapon wheel screen. Makes it easier to survive on the fly.
    - They fixed the hangar invisible wall that plagued the XB1 version for one or two years.
    - The MK II variants of weapons are much easier to obtain
    - The new Special Carbine is ridiculously good and accurate
    - The railgun makes dealing with enemy helicopters a joke
    - Money can be easily grinded with recent business buffs (the acid lab alone will make you rich in no time).
    - As long as everybody close the game as soon as a player dies, no one will lose progress.

Really, the hardest part is finding a group patient and dedicated enough to go through this ordeal as it requires a lot of time. But it isn't as hard as it may seem otherwise.

It shouldn't come as a surprise, it's a live service game. They've sold as many copies as they're going to sell. The only way they're going to get new players now is to let people try the game for free and hope that they get hooked.

    Jeez… roll roll roll

Adding some Xbox 360 classics from Rockstar Games would be much better, than this the most boring GTA again. I wouldn't even mind GTAIII and GTA: Vice City from those The Definitive Edition versions.
There's little to no potential for profit in bringing those games to game pass. GTAV on the other hand has the potential for leading to extra purchases in the online mode.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to spend my life trawling comment sections on achievement websites. Glad you do though. smile
