Is Code Veronica X included in the Code Veronica numbers? A lot of us got that one because a)it wasn't on dreamcast and b) it had a bitchin' demo of the yet to be released Devil May Cry...
    State of the badass art.

Also, "sales" numbers of Resident Evil Revelations 2 are hard to calculate, since the first episode is free. Is that how many people have booted it up?

Yes, Code Veronica number includes DC and PS2 versions, just not the 360/PS3 ports.

That Capcom page doesn't seem to include free games at all, so I would assume it is actual sales numbers for Rev2 across all five platforms (with the extra bump from the Switch collection).

You're thinking of RE: Umbrella Chronicles and it's on sale for $3 on the Wii U eShop until it closes to anyone interested.

Well, that explains why Capcom is gun shy on remaking Code Veronica...or making another Revelations.

It seems folks are afraid to invest in one that doesn't have a number after it, despite Code Veronica being more of a resident evil 3 than Nemesis was, and for my money, the Revelations games did a much better job of blending action gameplay and horror energy than re 5 or 6.

Great article btw, thanks for replying.

Crazy to think that Village sold so little despite 7's success and a return to more 'action' formula. Village dropped by 4 million in sales compared to 7.

That's a low # for RE4. I figured it would have sold better. My absolute favorite!

Another great article (as everything that you folks have released today! Much appreciated!).

Resi5 really should be played in coop with a good friend. Played it countless times with my best bro and found a new friend boosting mercs. Good times.

Yeah but compared to 7 Village isnt as interesting, with warewolves and mecha bossfight and death angel...
I do believe crazy cannibal family with some weird mud monsters can still fit into resident evil lore compared to the weird cast of village

But still im genuenly suprised 5 sold more than 4th considering re4 relased on twice more consoles

The reason RE 4s numbers for the GameCube are as low as they are is because its PS2 port was announced before the GameCube version came out. So it wasn't an exclusive just a timed exclusive of about 9 months.

Sales is a weak metric of quality. Look which game ranks first..

Resident Evil 5 is fantastic, one of the best co-op experiences i've had in any game

A lot of folks will give RE5 a hard time because it was such a departure from what the classic RE games were (and, to be fair, it totally was!) but I agree with you for sure that it was such a fun co-op experience! I wasn't a major fan of 6 but still had a great time in co-op with that as well.

But RE7 will always have a special place for me. Probably the game I've grown to love the most in the franchise.

RE5's gameplay is rock solid. It takes the RE4 formula and refines it. And the co-op is extremely fun too. The let down is the story/setting, and focus on action. Lost in Nightmares better shows off what the game could have been.

Resident Evil 5 is actually a good game but not a good Resident Evil game.

Anyway my rankings from what I played would go like this:
    1. Resident Evil 2 (2019)
    2. Resident Evil 4
    3. Resident Evil Revelations
    4. Resident Evil 3 (2020)
    5. Resident Evil 5
    6. Resident Evil 7
    7. Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 6 is the only one I didn't like of them all. I got Village to but still didn't find the time to get to it.

Village lacked presentation. There was nothing interesting in the trailers, absolutely nothing. Nothing in the demo either.

Also, how many xbox players thought to themselves "I'll wait for a sale/game pass?"

I'm a massive RE fan, but that's where I'm at with it. I paid ten bucks for re3 remake, why should I have spent 60? I only had to wait a year.
