It's a good day to be an Xbox Game Pass subscriber as two more excellent games join the service, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla was good but got repetitive quite a bit. But its good it's on the cloud.

My main issue with Valhalla is the bloat. It actually does some very interesting things from a lore perspective and has some really good points in the story. It's just the amount of filler nonsense that's the issue. I was fairly efficient and tried not to get side-tracked and with all DLC it still took 200+ hours.

DLCs are pretty decent though, does depend on how sick you get of dreary European countryside though, as the first two are visually indistinct from the base game. Dawn of Ragnarok is more visually distinct but too expensive for what it is, and the "fantasy" DLC idea was done better in Odyssey I think.

If the Isu story interests you and you like vikings then there's a lot to like, but it's a game that could have used half it's content just flat out removed.

At least I won't have to put the Valhalla disc in.

I loved Valhalla and completed both expansions, all the side quests, basically almost everything in it. At first I didn't think I'd love it as much as I loved Odyssey (and Origins before), but it grew on me. Running at 60 fps it's still one of the best looking games around and it's extremely fun to play both with combat or stealth. One of my favourite games this generation for sure, even if it was a launch title.

Figment seems to have a bugged achievement just so people are aware.

They fixed the bugged achievements for Figment??? Any news?
Hi man, how much do you rate it as difficulty from 1 to 10 to get the 1000g? (if you already complete it at 100%, i don't know.).

I enjoy Valhalla as I love the imagery and scenery but I’m overwhelmed by how much there is to do. Puts me off abit.

I still to this day think RDR2 is the best looking game and story

Valhalla is such a boring slog. That game almost ruined AC for me, thank god Mirage came along and made me love the franchise again. Valhalla was the first AC that I had no will to complete entirely. Didn’t even play the DLCs despite owning them as I got sick of the world, the protagonist and the combat.

As I said before they need to fix the issue with Figment and Bug Squasher.

I had the same experience. Valhalla is so bloated.

It's such a shame as I've loved the AC series for years.
If there's was 200 hours of game / mechanics in there, I'd be tempted, but 30 hours stretched out to 200?
There's too many other games and better uses of my time...

I done the entire base game and the mastery stuff near the end of last month and now currently in the middle of a hiatus from Valhalla before I move on to the expansions, figured taking a long break before starting them would help instead of doing everything in one go.

But yeah agreed, felt like such a slog and especially since England isn't as good as a video game location scenery-wise compared to Egypt and Greece. Doesn't help that the Migard section adds to the slog too since it felt like its own mini-expansion really.

I would have played Valhalla, but one obscure achievement in Odyssey glitching on me has left a sour taste in my mouth… Glad to see such games still being added though.

Everyones got an opinion. I think Egypt and all those other yellow brown scenerys are boring. Valhalla is the only ac that peaks my interest. Real productive conversations.
Anyways I keep hearing its coming to game pass today but I've yet to see it

I can't face Valhalla... (still playing Odyssey! Lol) but I'd recommend the shorter version they did for the standalone Discovery Tour (Viking Age). Uses same maps as Valhalla but with different quests. A lot shorter, and totally non-violent (!) so no combat, but quite fun. Gives another 1000 GS.
(Not on GP or sale right now, though.)
    Happy New Year!

Glad to see Valhalla on Game Pass, absolutely love the series. I just finished it off last week though after putting it off for well over a year (I did not and do not care for roguelikes and that latest DLC put me off), but I managed to suffer through it and finish it off.
