I bought the complete edition or whatever it is called, the one with the dlc that should have been in the season pass, but wasn't. That was at least a couple of months ago. But I'm just too scared to get started... the game length is just so daunting, I just keep thinking "I'm not ready yet, I'm not ready yet". It doesn't help that I am not inherently interested in the setting (unlike Origins and Odyssey) and I've got all the older AC games unplayed in my backlog as well... many with far more interesting settings, *sigh*.

Truth be told, I am not certain its time for me will ever come... there's just so much to play, so much variety. Everytime I finish a game, I think "ohh I can knock this one out in just a few hours, let's do that"...
I wish less gamers would do this. I’m not trying to shame you individually because you’re in good company. I just don’t think gamers spending over $40 on a game they’re not immediately planning to play is good for the industry.

A $3-5 game I could kind of understand, if not agree with. Too many of us are collecting digital icons in a list that says “Owned” instead of the list that says “Store” and I’m not sure how, but I have a feeling it’s going to end badly.

I get easily overwhelmed when starting a new open world game, and it takes a long time for me to find a rhythm to completing things. But I really enjoyed the 10-ish hours I put into this so far. Reminds me of ACIII, how it changed/added a lot of things, some hit and some miss but the change is something I welcome. That slower pace intro even reminds me of starting off in ACIII haha. That's probably the reason for the players dropping the game off so early.
I agree, these open-world games are getting so big it becomes daunting to know where to start and what to do next. I have the Witcher III, Red Dead 2, and one of the Assassin Creed's games (I forgot which) all of which I bought a few years ago and have yet to really start them. I've noticed though that once I start and really delve into the story it's usually worth the time I put into it.

lol England was WAY too big in valhalla. no Suprise at the drop off rate. ubisoft should make the maps smaller like assassins creed 1 perfect. 4 years later I've hardly touched the surface of valhalla and unlikely to finish and move onto mirage any time soon. what a shame ubisoft can't make a streamlined game anymore aside from mirage which to me wasn't a full priced AAA, and ubisofts best effort.

And sales show that very, very few wanted Mirage

Alexios/Cassandra lived like 2500 years, just let me port that character into new eras to make myself a warlord or whatever and I’d pay Ubisoft for every one.

Didn't... Ubisoft report record sales? Not sure what you are refering to.

This doesn't surprise me at all, the opening portion of the game is so long, and the revised combat (for me vs. AC2) is wildly different and quite confusing, I was gifted the game by a friend - but gave up an hour or two in.
Remember, the more people who join TrueAchievements the higher your score will be - provided you're better than them ;-) So spread the word!

I dunno why but I literally just cannot get into this game.

I've played every single Assassin's Creed, with most of them being at 100% on either PlayStation or Xbox. But I absolutely despise this game. I've tried several times across several platforms, and I just have no desire to play it. Something just doesn't click for me.

Since this game is on Game Pass now, is there a way to *just* buy the DLC for it? Everything on the xbox store looks like you can only buy the DLC bundled with the game.
you can just buy the Season Pass -which is on sale- for it which includes the 2 DLCs. No need for the bundle if you are subscribed to Game Pass.

you probably never watched Vikings either or read European history. It's very common knowledge among any person interested in Vikings.

I bought the complete edition of this game on Black Friday last year and have yet to start it. But once I get around to doing so I'll be enjoying it all the way

Funnily enough I live in a Viking settlement. We have a Tim Hortons here. Fortunately, I have just found out the Vikings have left a long time ago.
Are you implying Vikings, like me, also dislike Tim Hortons? Am I a Viking? shock

I can't really blame them. The game is a mess and certainly has the worst prologue of any AC game, and incredibly buggy. The first boss straight up broke for me halfway through the fight. He just stood there while I beat him. It feels by the numbers and soulless. I quit after 10 hours and I don't have any desire to jump in again

We've been over this a million times. Almost all Xbox achievement unlock rates are heavily skewed. Nearly 60% unlock rate is actually very high. Certainly not out of the ordinary. The TA unlock rate is also not surprising.

Funny enough, it wasn't fully priced either. I think it was $50, which is pretty unheard of unless it's an expansion or DLC campaign. Haven't played Mirage yet though, so I won't judge. Heard praise and criticism in equal parts for it so far.

Glad to see 40% of players did not support the Norwegian pillaging of our ancestors, and stopped playing before they were forced to re-enact the events. Shame on the other 60%.
Shame on you for playing any video games that have you kill people or other various things. Shame on all the other 99.999% of gamers who have done the same. Including me.
