This isn't all to bad.. I really wish they would do a focused non-backwards compatible sale.. Even if its just once.. But catching up some games that have rarely gone on sale is a good place to start.. Hopefully DLC will get some love to.. Lots of that will need to be cycled though over the coming months.

I'm not at all surprised to see people (for the last week or two, not just here) asking for some generous fire sale on non-BC games, but Microsoft doesn't determine what goes on sale. Publishers and developers do. Could you imagine if it was the other way around? "We at Microsoft have decided your split of the profits for your game will be $1.50 this week, and you will like it."

Microsoft takes a 30% cut, give us 30% off. 😃
On the xbox one store, in the back compatability section

I have contacted Ubisoft about DLC that never goes on sale, and they say it has to do with Microsoft. I'm sure it is often actually both parties working together to decide what can be put on sale at what price. For example if no publishers initiate a sale in a given week, I'm sure someone at Microsoft gets on the horn with publishers and helps grease the wheels. Can you imagine what would happen if there was a week with no sales, because no publishers wanted one? Microsoft would not tolerate that.

There's definitely some coordination to make these large sales happen (on Xbox or Steam or any storefront). But I suspect, with confidence, that digital stores can't just adjust the price of someone else's goods without approval.

I would love for the DLC for Graveyard Keeper to go on sale sometime. It has been on sale multiple times on other storefronts (Steam/PS/GoG - fuck, it's on sale on GoG right now), yet can't remember the last time it was on sale for xbox.

The person at Ubisoft lied. Imagine if Ubisoft wanted to put AC Valhalla on sale for $30, but Microsoft forced AC Valhalla to remain at $60 for the next 3 years, while discounting Halo and Gears to $30.

What the person at Ubisoft really meant was Ubisoft have full control over the price of their content, but only Microsoft determine which sales will be promoted each week. I have found content on sale that Major Nelson simply did not mention.

Ubisoft is a bad example because they have a great relationship with Microsoft. Ubisoft are constantly putting their content on sale, especially when not much else is on sale that week.

Hopefully non-BC titles will also come. Great to see some 360 love here but 360 DLC discounts would be amazing too.
TA don't cover the old Xbox 360 store in these sales, but there is usually some non-BC games on sale each week. For example:

Far Cry 4 (Xbox 360) 67% off (was 91% recently)
Street Fighter X Tekken 80% off (lowest price recently)

Rotastic hasn't been picked up by TA's scanners yet, but is on sale for 99 cents and is a non-BC, digital only game.

It doesn't help that the Xbox One weekly sale starts about 8 hours before the Xbox 360 sale. By then TA have already published the sale round-up.

    Rotastic 80% off - https://marketplace.xbox.com/Product/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115...

Thanks for those. I usually check here for non-BC stuff:

    https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2023/08/28/this-weeks-deals-with...

Is there another place to track 360 stuff?

Rotastic is mislabeled there interestingly with being backward compatible even though it's not. (That particular one has been for sale recently before as well.)
