Game is good but it will break you. No matter how much you think it wont there will be a point the fun just dies and it becomes a slog
Well I can easily see that happening. There's been such overflow with open world games that anything that is of weaker design can quickly starts to taste like wood. Especially when common consensus seems to be even among AC fans that Origins and Odyssey offered more interesting story and open world than Valhalla
The game is actually decent but for me the biggest problem is that with odyssey you had the open water, and locations and environments looked and felt different but with valhalla the game looks and feels exactly the same from the first hour right through to 100+ hours. The game is so big that your mind goes numb from watching amd playing the same stuff

I think this is spot on, TBH. The map just felt extremely repetitive, even for Ubi.
Focusing on older games as per my To-Do Lists. Always looking for new friends so feel free to add me.

I bought the complete edition or whatever it is called, the one with the dlc that should have been in the season pass, but wasn't. That was at least a couple of months ago. But I'm just too scared to get started... the game length is just so daunting, I just keep thinking "I'm not ready yet, I'm not ready yet". It doesn't help that I am not inherently interested in the setting (unlike Origins and Odyssey) and I've got all the older AC games unplayed in my backlog as well... many with far more interesting settings, *sigh*.

Truth be told, I am not certain its time for me will ever come... there's just so much to play, so much variety. Everytime I finish a game, I think "ohh I can knock this one out in just a few hours, let's do that"...
For me Skyrim is that kind of game that Ive tried to properly start playing but it always ends up with same thoughts laugh....that the game is just too big for me to properly focus on right now and I end up playing something else.

Overall I just hope that game developers would focus on making games that arent filled with meaningless side activities and get lost in the thought that the game world has to be huge. It really doesnt, quality over quantity should always come first and the game doesnt have to last for +100 hours in order to complete everything

I'd advise only to look out on the one dlc, I believe ragnarok. There is 1 collectable u can miss during the missing when u go into the glove thing. U can't replay that mission if u miss it. So just remember finish all that missions collectable stuff up before u finish the mission.
I'm assuming you mean something that doesn't effect the ability to acquire achievements because nothing in the game that I recall was missable and none of the achievements are marked as such.

Watched my bestie falling asleep playing this and Odyssey one too many times, and she loves AC. I appreciate games that actually end.
    Have a nice day

I had issues with check points and I think quick resume interference with saving, I got the prologue ach but I think I have to do the end again to proceed further so I uninstalled and was glad I got to play it on a free play weekend. I might try it again for no extra cost someday.

Haters gunna hate I guess. Game was absolutely amazing worth every penny even before ubisoft plus or game pass. I had no problems so any1 else who did just quits easily an gave up. I put over 14 days into this game an I'd do it again.

Who would willingly want to reach England, game or otherwise.
It's a good game to destress. Mindless, low stakes, easy combat
    Life, it's funny that way

40% didn't reach England? Good thing the Battle of Hastings didn't go that way.
The 80s had the best music. The 90s had the best movies. The 2000s had the best games. What do you have to offer?

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot but man it IS a total slog after awhile. Completing all the territories is a monumental time sink in addition to the story and side missions. And whoever thought those cairn puzzles were fun can go eat a huge d*ck.

Yep I did and I got the gold edition not long after release. I hated how the game seemed to lose it's identity again and tried to blend what worked before with a dark souls style gameplay, just because that style of game was popular at the time. In the intro you cant even stealth kill anyone then you get into a ridiculous fight with a stamina bar you have to monitor, did not feel like assassin's creed to me. I'll give it another try at some point but not prioritising it, that coming from someone who has beaten every assassin's creed game prior twice except syndicate which had the same issue with lost Identity.

In your opinion, is Ubisoft on the right path with Mirage?

I get easily overwhelmed when starting a new open world game, and it takes a long time for me to find a rhythm to completing things. But I really enjoyed the 10-ish hours I put into this so far. Reminds me of ACIII, how it changed/added a lot of things, some hit and some miss but the change is something I welcome. That slower pace intro even reminds me of starting off in ACIII haha. That's probably the reason for the players dropping the game off so early.

Looking at the % drop-off between each main story achievement in games is always interesting. About a third of people seem to drop games immediately.

i dont blame them. This game is an overly long bloated mess
