THANK YOU! Ever since I heard an achievement in Gears 5 (I think) was going to pop on game launch I’ve been worried about some game like this...might have to start skipping the weekly play games to not have games on my tag I don’t want to play!

OK so from reading the comments it seems to be regularly broken, I thought not being able to get the daily achievements to register was an issue with my account as it happens so regularly. Yesterday I got 4 or 5 achievements in both Game Pass and a non game pass and tried claiming after each, but still no daily achievement award. It is annoying due to the time wasted.

For those who don’t want the achievement, the quest will complete at the loading screen before the game launches. But you have to be quick to dashboard at the loading screen.

If you're trying to get the Kameo quest without unlocking the 0 point achievement, it's easier on a slow loading XBox One rather than the super-fast Series X.

I'm pleased to say that this morning I managed to get Play With Friends doing the above, so whatever the issue was appears to have finally been fixed!

As Sp4cey mentioned, it can take quite a while to pop, but don't feel you have to stay in the lobby until it does. You can wait for 1-2 minutes then leave, and you should still get the notification of the unlock a while later even if you've quit the game.

I use forza horizon 5 usually pops it after about 10 mins

I've logged on all times of the day and managed to find at least one session, so I guess you were just super unlucky? They may not all literally use the word "rewards" but they may say things like "daily 250", "ms points" "play with friends" and so on. They will all say some form of "not playing" so if you see that you'll know they aren't trying to start an actual game and you're safe to sit in the lobby.

I managed to find one last night luckily enough! Must just have been bad timing the first time. And yeah it popped after sitting in the lobby for a while which is even better than I expected.

I wouldn't worry about it, the host is just making sure that other people can get points. Some of the lobbies get to 8/8 and then nobody leaves.
As of this morning, my task has changed to "Play Fortnite" instead of Play With Friends, hoping I can get it to pop without actually playing a match.

It popped for me just as he kicked me so I was lucky to even get it. Oddly enough I saw the same guy yesterday and managed to join his lobby again, but no matter how long I waited (was just me and him) it never popped so I left. I then managed to find someone else and it worked. Weird that it allowed me to rejoin the same guy so clearly the bans are temporary so shame it affected the rewards.

Damn. I just checked mine and it's not saying that for me so wonder if they're testing it out or they haven't just rolled it out to everyone yet. Hopefully you'll just be able to sit in a lobby instead of actually playing!

Ah didn't know that! Thanks! I've noticed the Play a PC game one can also be a bit temperamental too. Guess that might mean I might have a chance of getting the Play with Friends one even if I can't find a Rewards lobby (I'm definitely not good enough to play with randoms lol).

Good to hear about the Fortnite not needing to actually be played. I'd rather that didn't become a permanent thing because I do not want that on my tag or to go anywhere near my systems.
