Second, exploration for its own sake is fine by me. I feel RPGs should always allow players to wander off and extemporize. That’s what role playing is all about. The issue is whether it’s fun. Take CODE VEIN, for example. It’s a decent game but, by no means, a phenomenal one. Yet, the combat never grew old. The audio & visual feedback from parries & blood drains could not have been more satisfying.

Of course, I’m an expert at cramming a 20 hour game into 200 hours. And my backlog continues to grow.

Looks like another generic looter shooter, Destiny wannabe.
Sad how people will lap this up like it’s a unique game.

Clever article title but are we really in a “desert” of action RPGs? I don’t feel like we are.

Interesting sounding game and I like the lack of difficulty requirements for achievements. Does the game have other accessibility options? Like avoiding having to tap X repeatedly is a big deal for me, in Dead Island 2 I have to waste a skill slot on Greased Pig to avoid this, in State of Decay 2 there’s simply an option to change this to “hold X” which is much better. Anything like that of which we should be aware?

Interesting sounding game and I remember the trailers for it felt exciting. I think I’ll still give it a few months for whatever improvements to get patched in, but if nothing better comes along this may be my Black Friday game purchase.

As for this game, it looks like tons of fun, but I have so many other great options in my backlog that it might have to wait for a sale.

Another game I'm cautiously optimistic about. Could be a good one!
