An Xbox LIVE privilege restriction prevents you from using this feature

I just redownloaded skate 3 to my Xbox one in the hopes of getting the online achievements while they're still up. The game booted up fine and all that but when I try to use an of the online features in the main menu I get the error that's the subject of this thread. An Xbox LIVE privilege restriction prevents you from using this feature.
I've even tried cloud streaming the game and I'm still getting the same error.

Any suggestions?

I remember a similar message when Xbox Gold expires and you try and play a game you received via Gold. If you have Game Pass still active and this was a title you got through Gold then that's not the issue.

The only other thing I can think of is a privacy setting causing an issue.
