You shouldn’t play it because it’s bad.

Played it on Playstation, was the first AC where I did not make the end in one go. Felt too much as same thing in a new jacket.
I'm not Green, I'm not Blue. I'm Cyan.

I was an AC fanboy, this game broke me. I put a ton of hours in but I realized after like 200 of doing the same damn thing over and over mixed with bullshit filler content that I was over it. The Miles saga nostalgia wore off with Valhalla. Layla sucked as a current day protag, Eivor was way too dull, especially after having Bayek and Alexios, and the mystery got too convoluted and felt forced. Its worth giving it a shot, don't get me wrong, just remember its an Ubi game - so you've probably played it before hahaha
I'm just a guy, staring at each new Rockstar update, asking it to be single player DLC...

Agree. If you are a casual player, sure, go for it! It's a beautiful game and you might have fun for a while. If you want to complete it, it's the most boring Assassin's Creed ever made. And I have played every single one of them and some more than once! laugh

It also has the absolutely worst DLC ever released for the series with the Mastery Challenges. Well done whoever designed those, you trully suck at making games! laugh

Yes, this is the game that has the power to break you and make you have a series you once loved. I survived it and thnakfully Mirage was everything I wanted! Whenever you feel like going back to the series, give it a go, it's nothing like Valhalla!

I've heard this a lot. Once I get over my grudge I may give it a shot hahaha. But for now I'm putting Ubi on the backburner until they get their shit together somewhat consistently or I have nothing else to play. I'm planning on having Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth take up a good chunk of the first half of my year, then taking on BD3 once (hopefully) they work out all the kinks. Then of course there's the dreaded backlog, but you know how that goes laugh

I said in the other game pass thread Syndicate was better than the 3 open world Assassins Creeds after it. Origins was decent the other 2 were almost assassins creed in name only.

    Mirage is a welcome return.

If you play AC games for what they are - a beautifully crafted open world game to get lost in, then you are in for a treat.
If you expect a well written story you can finish off in a couple of hours, look further.
If you want to 100% it but afraid of the bugs or the mastery challenges, give it a try - it is fully patched now and the challenges are very doable.
Also happy this coming to GP, i feel I'll get back some of the lost TA score haha.

Agreed. I loved Syndicate and the twins and that was the last true AC game. I loved exploring Egypt and Greece and I think that padded the things I didn't like about the games and the mains were excellent, so in my fanboyness I let my gripes go. I'm sure I'll eventually check out Mirage, at this rate its gotta come to GP eventually, probably then.

It is great, I doubt anyone will finish it before it leaves GP if start it today, even if this is the only game playing.

It is better to buy complete edition when on sale or sub to ubi+ for the DLC. It currently is on sale for next 6 days £29.99 (TA is saying not available in UK but it is-maybe delisting soon?), giving game, all DLC and extra expansion Dawn of Ragnarok, which I paid over £30 for it alone. As far as I know it is only base game in GP.

At least it gives people a chance to try it in GP. At first I found it overwhelming, and struggled to get into it, but then suddenly it clicked, and love it, playing it almost daily and “living” in the world. It is the best value for money game ever release at £130, but £30 is total steal.

The advantage for me now is any more achievements unlocks will count to being daily GP quest.
Buying:Physical discs leads to profits, Digital games leads to bankruptcy. I will not support digital fully until we can trade digital games

Anyone else having installation issues where English isn't an option for installation language?

The game is a massive check list of chores, If you want more chores play it.
I got 50 hours into the game doing chores, only to have a game breaking glitch leaving me unable to continue the main story.

When I think about playing another Assassins Creed after AC Origins I get shivers down my spine. No thanks, its just to bloated.

I like the game, I don't like the hassle of collecting every single wealth/artifact on a massive map.

It isn't bad, it is just so dull.

Characters are lifeless, map is just dull and there is too much to do that feels completely soulless.

I am sure there are plenty of people who love it, but its the firstAC game I couldnt bring myself to finish, haven’t even touched the DLC and I bought the ultimate edition.

    Such a disappointing game

As I have played and completed all achievements of the two previous installments, this one is still on my backlog and I don't know if I have the time and/or strength to complete it. I get bored after a couple missions/side quests and whatnot.

I mean Origins and Odyssey are both still on GP and they were added back in June and September 2022 respectively.

I really enjoyed Odyssey when I played it last summer and it took me ~125 hours to beat the game, the DLCs, and get all the achievements. Started it on July 15th and finished it on September 1st (although I did split all my time in August between it and playing Baldur's Gate 3 with my friends which is why it took longer date wise).

Valhalla intimidates me because I've heard that just the base game is about that long if not longer before even getting into the DLC. Plus, it seems like people are a lot more split on it compared to Origins and Odyssey.
