Figment developer save file from Steam

Apparently the Figment developers have provided a save file on Steam, that is supposed to help players unlock the buggy Bug Squasher achievement. There is also a relatively new solution on TA advertising this method.

Is this method safe to use on TA or would you get in trouble for using the developer save?

I can't speak for the Investigations team, but I would err on the side of caution when it comes to this kind of thing

Even though it has been provided by the developers it is still manipulating game files which is against the TA cheat policy

IM might say something different (I doubt it though), but I would hold of doing anything until they weigh in

Wouldn't this technically fall under the following allowed action from the policy?

    - Playing a developer released version of a game, be it a specific release or a patch.

Might be stretching "developer released version" a bit here though.
In any case, I doubt this one is enforceable considering the achievement can be unlocked normally but is just very buggy.

Thanks for your answers. I will of course wait for the IM the decide.

It kind of sounds more like:
Using a save from a different profile (typically referred to as gamesaving).

In which case it is not allowed.

I understand that people are eager to help via solutions, but I sincerely hope the author got some clarification from the Investigations Team prior to posting. Otherwise, it would be very irresponsible.

They've said no to Dev saves in the past and considered it cheating.

    MC:Dungeons - Dev-provided save file

Youve attempted it 4 times already? Have you deleted your save from everywhere before trying again? Usually what you need to do in cases like this.

I deleted everything before I started a new run. Reinstalled and played on different consoles as well. No luck yet.
