Vampire Survivors adds couch co-op mode soon with free Xbox update

By Sean Carey,

Vampire Survivors is getting a new couch co-op mode in a free update coming in August, and developer Poncle has confirmed it won't be adding new achievements with the mode.

Your completion is safe for now as Poncle has revealed it won't be adding any new Vampire Survivors achievements with the game's free couch co-op mode as it doesn't want to force players into playing co-op to unlock and see everything in the game.

Vampire Survivors adds free couch co-op mode in August

Rolling out to all players in a free update on August 17, Vampire Survivor's new couch co-op mode will support up to four players, allowing you to play through the entire game with your pals. You will be able to switch between co-op and single-player whenever you want, so you don't need to worry about starting a new save, and Poncle says that "all the unlocks you get during a co-op play session will carry over to your single-player save."

Poncle has also said that no new achievements will be added with this update. In an FAQ addressing the topic of couch co-op focused achievements, Poncle says, "We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to play co-op to unlock and see everything in the game. You will be able to play the whole of Vampire Survivors with friends, foes, or your favorite creatures of the night, but it’s fully optional."

Will you be returning to Vampire Survivors for some couch co-op? Let us know down in the comments.
