After spending a few weeks on PC, the Endless Archive and Update 40 arrive for all The Elder Scrolls Online players on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One today. Not only do the free updates add new PvE content, jewelry crafting changes, and more, but players on Xbox will have four new achievements to unlock worth 170 Gamerscore.

Last month, we had a chance to preview the new Endless Archive PvE content with ZeniMax, and it looks like it could be an extremely fun experience. Found in Hermaeus Mora's realm of Oblivion, the Endless Archive tasks you to battle your way through multiple arenas until you eventually succumb to the increasingly difficult enemies found within, solo, or with a co-op partner. It blends rogue-like elements with the arena-style rounds found in other Elder Scrolls Online content, offering up a host of rewards along the way.

As for Update 40, we're finally going to see some changes made to the jewelry crafting system, which will hopefully drastically reduce the cost of Legendary Plating. The update also includes a new Group Finder tool and Grandmaster Crafting Stations, all for free. Check out our Endless Archive and Update 40 preview for a rundown of everything coming to The Elder Scrolls Online today.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Endless Archive Xbox achievements

As with most new content drops from ZeniMax, the Endless Archive adds new Elder Scrolls Online achievements for those brave enough to take on the challenge. There are four to collect worth 170 Gamerscore, none of which are secret, so we can see what we'll be getting up to.

A Stage for Two requires us to complete four stages with a co-op partner, while Arcing Onward tasks us with reaching Arc four. Arcs are made up of three Stages called a Cycle, which once cleared will see us battling it out with one of 60 bosses to end the Arc, collect our rewards, and begin a new Arc with a slightly higher difficulty. One of the many rewards available in the Endless Archive is a new currency called Archival Fortunes, which can be spent with the various traders in the hub area — spend 1,000 Archival Fortunes and you'll unlock the First Splurge! achievement. As for the No Book Left Unread achievements, you'll need to unlock several in-game challenges, mostly related to the optional Portals, to unlock the Xbox achievement. According to ESO Hub, these are the in-game challenges we'll need to complete:

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***
Name Description Gamerscore
Arcing Onward Reach Arc 4 in the Endless Archive. 100
A Stage For Two Complete 4 Stages with another player in the Endless Archive. 20

The Elder Scrolls Online is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One and can be played alongside some of the best games on Game Pass. All of the content arriving with The Endless Archive and Update 40 is free for all players.
