After a multitude of delays, it sounds like the Skull and Bones release date might actually be just around the corner, as a new leak suggests we could be playing the game by February 16, 2024, on Xbox Series X|S.

As reported by InsiderGaming, Skull and Bones is still on track for a release before the end of Ubisoft's current fiscal year, with the sites' sources claiming that the pirate-themed action game will launch on February 16, 2024. Although Ubisoft has only revealed the standard Xbox Series X|S version of Skull and Bones so far, the company is reportedly planning to release a premium edition priced around $15 to $20 more than the standard edition, offering players a chance to jump in early from February 13, 2024.

According to the report, Ubisoft is expected to reveal the Skull and Bones release date in the coming weeks, potentially during The Game Awards on December 7.

Skull and Bones has faced rough seas since its announcement way back in 2017, suffering six delays in total, a complete reboot with a "new vision," and the loss of three creative directors. With such calamitous development time, somehow, the multiplayer game has managed to sail through without being canceled. Let's just hope the wait was worth it!
