According to Rare, you will need to "fully explore Mêlée Island and prove your pirate prowess if you hope to free Guybrush from LeChuck's Mojo-based meddling" and tackle three legendary trials that include mastering the sword, treasure hunting, and becoming a thief. As for the new achievements, they don't really give us anything to go on either.
