Rocket League announces Star Wars crossover with four droid-inspired cars

By Tom West,

To celebrate Star Wars Day this year, Psyonix will be offering a bundle of cosmetics in Rocket League's Item Shop themed around four iconic Star Wars droids.

Star Wars Day kicks off tomorrow, May 4th, and Psyonix will be joining in with the fun by offering a Star Wars-themed bundle of items in Rocket League until May 16th. It will contain a number of cosmetics based on four popular droids: R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, and K-2SO, and will be available within the Item Shop as a full Droid Bundle or as individual Droid Packs.

Star Wars comes to Rocket League

As it wouldn't be a true celebration without at least a couple of free items, all players will be able to claim the Rust Bucket Player Title and Star Wars R2-D2 (Twin Suns) Player Banner from the Rocket League Item Shop for free between May 4th and May 16th. If you'd like to go a bit further and decorate your rocket-powered cars with cosmetics from a galaxy far, far away, premium items will also be available.

Four Individual Droid Packs will be available, themed on each of the iconic droids. The BB-8 and R2-D2 packs (Decal, Wheels, and Topper) will be offered for 800 Credits each, while the C-3PO and K-2SO packs (Decal and Wheels) will set you back 500 Credits. If you'd like it all, you can pick up the Star Wars Droid Bundle — a bundle containing the associated vehicles will also be available — will be priced at 2,200 Credits and contains:

  • C-3PO Decal for Fennec
  • R2-D2 Decal for Octane
  • K-2S0 Decal for Dominus
  • BB-8 Decal for Takumi
  • Four wheel styles (R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, and K-2SO)
  • R2-D2 and BB-8 Toppers
  • R2-D2 Player Anthem
  • 'Droid' Player Title
