Rocket League celebrates 7th anniversary with Birthday Ball event

By Tom West,

Rocket League is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week, and to mark the occasion, Psyonix is hosting a Birthday Ball event, which offers two limited-time events (LTEs), challenges, rewards, and more.

For the last seven years, we've been charging around arenas in rocket-powered machines, chasing a ball like a bunch of puppies at playtime. Psyonix wants to celebrate the seventh anniversary of Rocket League with a two-week-long Birthday Ball event, which kicks off on Wednesday, July 6th and runs until July 19th, and it looks like there'll be a lot of fun to be had.

Rocket League's seventh birthday offers two weeks of fun

Rocket League's anniversary event will be the only reason you need this year to spend two weeks lounging in your birthday suit. The Birthday Ball will be split into two separate weeks of fun, with the first running between July 6th and July 13th. During this time, you'll have a chance to play in the 2v2 LTE Heatseeker, which gives the ball homing abilities that cause it to gravitate towards the opposite team's goal when you touch it. During week two, July 13th to July 19th, the Knockout LTE will be returning with both the Quadron Carbon and Calavera Arenas. Remember to grab, block, and attack your way to victory in this mode!

Of course, it wouldn't be a Rocket League event without challenges and goodies to earn, and Birthday Ball is no different. Both weeks will allow you to work through the Birthday Ball Challenges, which will give a chance to earn the Golden Goat Player Banner, Precious Metal Avatar Border, an Import Item Drop, 20,000 XP, and more. Additionally, if you manage to complete all of the available Challenges, you'll be rewarded with 300 Credits to use in the Item Shop, which will be stocking various cosmetics throughout the event.

As with all Rocket League events, Golden Eggs will be making a return between July 6th and July 19th and will offer up Items from Champion Series 1 through 4, so there is plenty to look forward to.

Will you be dressing down for the occasion to partake in the Birthday Ball festivities? Let us know down in the comments!
