Update:
The rumors were true! An "enhanced" version of Quake II is now available on Xbox and PC and with Game Pass.

Original story:
Earlier this year, Quake 2 Remastered was rated by South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee website, suggesting that an enhanced version of id Software's classic first-person shooter could be coming soon. Now reliable leaker Billbil-kun claims that the Quake 2 remaster will launch later today.

According to Billbil-kun, who claims to have seen ESRB and PEGI documentation on the game, the Quake 2 remaster will be revealed at QuakeCon 2023 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC and will cost $9.99 / £7.99 / €9.99. The leaker says the remaster will release at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, which is also when QuakeCon 2023 officially kicks off.

If the rumor is true, it's likely that we'll see the Quake 2 remaster also join Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass later today, much in the same way Quake did back in 2021. The Quake remaster also leaked ahead of an official reveal at QuakeCon by the South Korean rating board and the ESRB.
