After the first map that's covered in ice there will be elk statues situated around the map that give you health, to get the achievement you'll have to not use these until you beat the dragon boss at the end of the third area that's green, foggy and has the druid enemies. I was decently upgraded by the time I did this and it's an important note that I did buy the elk antlers from the shopkeeper to heal me for 50 health and this did not void the achievement. The boss isn't that hard if you stick by his legs and get used to dodging his attacks. You could skip some events/items to avoid enemies to save on health too

Apostle92627I was also wondering about using them in a previous run. Glad I don't have to worry about it.

Edit: Does dashboarding out when you die still work? Because that's something I'm considering.

Apostle92627Didn't need the dashboard. I had completed the first two quests in full, so I had the perk where you get half your health back when you die, which I also didn't need. I was gonna work on the second part of the third quest anyway, so I thought I'd try my hand at the Nidhogg (second attempt at Nidhogg, first at the achievement) after visiting the shopkeep.

I went in with 275 HP dual wielding a legend ax I picked up because I got lost and killed everyone and a flawless hammer (upgraded), and a level 2 Golden Flame ability (which kicks ass against it). I had 160 HP when I entered the second phase and 60 HP when I defeated it.

Furthermore, I can confirm you don't need to worry about using Elk Shrines if you're not going for the achievement on that run. They only keep you from getting the achievement on the run you're going for it. Finally, I can also confirm that the Elk Antlers don't matter at all, so go nuts with them. I purchased four on my run that I got the achievement.

SnowWolf75Thanks to all the tips here, I was able to get this completed. Additionally, I found a useful weapon in my runs, and used a favor each time to keep it - it restores health on kill. All the peons that get summoned in the final fight count as kills, so you can mow them down for a quick boost.

    Legendary Scythe
Kills restore a small amount of Health, but armor is reduced.
Atk 109; Stun 36; Wgt 16; Spd 49; Crit-Pre 58 (at upgrade level 4, just before the fight)
Health on kill: +4 (is affected by health boosting favors)
    Armor: -50

exorrI used the Legendary Scythe “Atle” as it heals 4 on every kill. Made running through to the Dragon pretty straight forward. Only tough area was the 3rd area and the enemies that throw fire bombs at you. Those things can eat through your life fast.

Don’t forget you can pause and quit to title if you’ve lost too much health in a battle, before the battle ends, to restart it. The second you die though you can no longer do this.

I Aint A ShoOk1Is this replayable , can you attempt more than once without restarting the dlc?? Yet to start this dlc an hope no missable achievements.

exorrYes, once you start the DLC you’ll understand how it works. You will have to do multiple runs to get all achievements. Each run can take anywhere from 30-90 minutes depending on your speed and choices.

Matte93obviously you have to prepare well ... I used a light bow , flaming arrows .. a high life bar even if I got there with 170 life points .. fire really hurts a lot

FuneralRitesOne piece of advice I'd suggest that isn't mentioned here is use the Dwarven outfit. It heals you, and also has the Grit skill at rank 3 or 4. This is actually pretty easy if you abuse Jotun Dive freeze + heavy attack with the Brittle Bones rune, since that combo will one shot most of the enemies on the way and the ones still alive are a hit from death. All that + Dwarven outfit + Brush with Death makes it trivial getting to Nidhogg with full health without even needing to buy health from the vendors

Nidhogg itself is easy anyway with Powder Trap or that one melee ability you attach an explosive, I forget the name.
