New Xbox achievements dredged up for cosmic horror fishing game DLC

The hugely popular (if slightly unsettling) fishing adventure game Dredge has just added eight new achievements with its first expansion, The Pale Reach.

The first expansion for Dredge is out now — we've just picked up the The Pale Reach achievements which you'll be chasing while exploring a new biome, a new side story, new fish and crab types, and more. Check out the expansion's trailer below.

"In Dredge: The Pale Reach, players can explore a brand-new biome in the world of Dredge which will require additional equipment, including the new and formidable ‘icebreaker’ attachment, to break through its frozen bergs," Team17 says. "Players looking to uncover all the secrets of The Pale Reach will need to trawl its freezing depths and traverse its crystalline canyons while following in the footsteps of a doomed expedition lost to time. Avid oceanographers will also be able to cast a line or drop a pot to hunt 11 new fish and crab species and their aberrated counterparts while purchasing blocks of ice to help prolong the value of their most valuable catches."

The expansion also adds new achievements which ask you to catch all known species of fish in The Pale Reach, as well as finishing all quests, catching all aberrations, and more. You can check out the full list below: there are eight achievements worth a total of 200 Gamerscore, none of which are secret.

The Pale Reach expansion is priced at around £5.99/$5.99, and is set to be followed by the game's second paid expansion, The Iron Rig, early next year. Dredge, which is already very popular, is also doing pretty well for itself coming up to The Game Awards, where it's been nominated for Best Independent Game and Best Debut Indie Game. If you're interested, you can currently play ten The Game Awards 2023 nominees today with Game Pass — although sadly Dredge isn't among that number, having not yet sailed to Game Pass.
