Game Pass adds two new Xbox games today, including Need for Speed Unbound

By Tom West,

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play two more games through the service today: arcade racing game Need for Speed Unbound and narrative adventure game The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales.

Two of the seven recently announced Xbox Game Pass additions join the service today. Need for Speed Unbound's arrival on EA Play means Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now play it on console, PC, and cloud, while The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales joins the base Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass libraries.

Need for Speed Unbound joins EA Play and Xbox Game Pass

Need for Speed Unbound is the latest entry into the popular racing game series, offering us high-speed street races and splashes of anime and graffiti-style art. When competing for the top spot in Lakeshore's premiere racing event, The Grand, we'll need to burn rubber across four weeks of intense racing to not only beat the competition but to leave our mark on the street racing scene — and outrun the cops while we're doing it! Need for Speed Unbound is available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and with today's arrival in the EA Play library, Ultimate subscribers can play it via Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales joins Xbox Game Pass

The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales launches on Xbox Series X|S today, dropping straight into the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass libraries as a day-one addition. It's a narrative adventure game from developer Do My Best which puts us in the shoes of Etienne Quist, a former writer who can enter book worlds. After losing the ability to write when accused of a crime, Quist uses his ability to steal things from other books in the hope that he can write again. Nothing is safe in the book worlds, so expect to be stealing fanciful items like Excalibur and Thor's Hammer!

There are plenty of games coming to Game Pass in 2023 and beyond as well, so check out our list of everything that's been confirmed so far for a peek into the future.
