Mortal Kombat 1 will reportedly feature The Boys' Homelander and more

NetherRealm's teased Mortal Kombat reboot will feature a DLC character pass that adds Homelander from The Boys and DC's Peacemaker, a report suggests.

Mortal Kombat 1 is reportedly a series reboot from NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Games, which Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon recently teased. Leaked store details appear to have revealed Mortal Kombat 1's price, and although a release date wasn't uncovered, a new report suggests that Mortal Kombat 1 could launch on Xbox Series X|S in September.

Mortal Kombat 1 could be targeting a September launch window

As reported by Windows Central, NetherRealm is targeting a September launch window for Mortal Kombat 1, although the outlet does say that "plans may be in flux." Additionally, much like we've seen characters like Alien and Leatherface in Mortal Kombat X and T-800 and The Joker in Mortal Kombat 11, Mortal Kombat 1 will reportedly feature other franchise characters via a character pass. The report suggests we could see Homelander from The Boys, DC's Peacemaker, and other unconfirmed characters join the fight via the DLC pass.

Of course, until NetherRealm makes an official announcement, we suggest you take this with a pinch of salt. Hopefully, we won't have too long to wait, though, as Summer Game Fest is just around the corner and more than 40 companies will be showcasing their products, including Warner Bros. Games.
