It looks like we won't be getting any more Minecraft Legends achievements as Mojang has now announced it has ended development on the Minecraft strategy spin-off.

"Since launch, we've listened to community feedback and implemented a series of changes and tweaks to make the game better," Mojang said in a post on the Minecraft website. "With that complete, we're now going to take a step back from development."

Mojang goes on to say that it will not be releasing any new content for Minecraft Legends, so don't expect any more updates, Lost Legends or Marketplace DLC. However, as a parting gift, Mojang has released the Bright-Eyed Hero skin for free, which can now be claimed from the Minecraft Legends Marketplace, and a new Lost Legends called Snows VS Snouts.

The developer notes that Lost Legends challenges will "remain available for free, and you’ll still be able to reap the rewards if you claim victory." Mojang has also noted that no functionalities or features will be removed from the game, so you will still be able to play PvP and co-op online.

The new means Minecraft Legends' November Update is officially the game's last. This big, free content update added new enemies, a new mount, a new mob to recruit, and ten new Xbox achievements worth a chunky 1,000 Gamerscore.

When Minecraft Legends launched in April last year, we noted in our review that while the game did lack depth, it was a lot of fun in PvP, so it's a shame to see Mojang end development on the title after just nine months.
