Konami's remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, and potential starting point for a number of remakes for the franchise, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, has been given a 2024 release window.

As revealed in a highlight reel from PlayStation, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be launching sometime in 2024. Of course, the year has just started so it hardly narrows down the launch window, but it's exciting enough to you that we'll be able to play it on Xbox Series X|S sometime in the next 12 months.

Konami Digital Entertainment first announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater early last year, before giving us our first in-engine look during the Xbox Partner Preview event in October, giving us our first glimpse at the game's use of Unreal Engine 5. It follows the original Metal Gear Solid 3 storyline but introduces "cutting-edge graphics and 3D audio to bring the hostile jungle to life."

According to one Konami spokesperson, this might not be the only remake we see from Solid Snake's stealth-survival adventures, as the company "chose Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater because it depicts the birth of Big Boss (Naked Snake), which is the starting point of the Metal Gear series." Fans have been asking for a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 for some time, so Konami looks to be using this as a good opportunity to kickstart a return to the franchise's beloved games.

If you fancy getting some classic Solid Snake action before the remake arrives later this year, check out the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection. It contains seven classic versions of the original games from the series, exclusive content diving into each game, and additional soundtracks. As a bonus, the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection achievements have an estimated completion time of 30 to 35 hours.
