We’re not going to get into a debate about whether it’s football or soccer — both of these beautiful games are on sale at the moment at Amazon.

Right now you can snag Madden NFL 24 for 50% off at Amazon, down to just $34.99. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen it at since it launched. If you prefer soccer, you can also grab the recently released EA Sports FC 24 for 33% off, down to just $44.99 in the sales too. Again, this is the cheapest we’ve seen this game since it launched.

When you purchase either of these games, you'll have access to both the Xbox One and ‎Xbox Series X | S versions, though both consoles have the own achievement lists.
If you’re on the other side of the pond, and seething at seeing the word soccer, then we’ve got more bad news for you too — you’re going to have to pay full price for EA FC 24 at the moment. We’ll keep you posted if we spot a similar deal over in Blighty.

EA FC 24 is the first football/soccer game from EA since they dropped the official FIFA branding, after EA boss Andrew Wilson said that the deal was an “impediment” to them growing the franchise. It looks like the gamble paid off for EA too, as EA FC 24 has been almost as popular as the FIFA branded titles.

Looking at our internal data, we saw EA Sports FC 22 pick up 55700 players across both Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in its first two weeks. For comparison, FIFA 23 picked up 61,041 players in its first two weeks, while FIFA 22 had 59,806. A small dip in numbers to be sure, but a strong sign that players love the games, and not the FIFA badge slapped on the front.

Of course, if you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play subscriber and you don’t mind waiting until about 6 months after launch, you’ll likely be able to access both of these games as part of your subscriptions eventually. While you wait, check out our list of the best Game Pass games to tide you over until then.
