The BlizzCon celebrations over the weekend saw Blizzard reveal Vessel of Hatred, Diablo IV's first expansion, and while details about the DLC are light at the moment, the DLC is expected to include a new class when it arrives on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in late 2024.

Blizzard's reveal trailer for Vessel of Hatred isn't anything more than a tease at this point, offering us a glimpse at the content planned for some time in late 2024. According to the announcement, we'll be heading to a new area of Sanctuary called Nahantu for a story focused on Mephisto, Lilith's father. While Blizzard is keeping it's card close to its chest right now, Vessel of Hatred will also include a brand-new class, but we'll need to wait a bit longer until the developer unveils it.

While it's best to take any leaks with a pinch of salt, recent datamines suggest that the upcoming class is called "Spiritborn" (thanks, IGN). While the datamine had Vessel of Hatred's name down as "Lord of Hatred," it's said to include a mercenary system for NPC companions, new endgame activities, new gear, new questlines, and more.

Vessel of Hatred will be the first of Blizzard's planned yearly expansions for the game, and although we have some time until we can decide the fate of Mephisto, we'll be hoping to get some more Diablo IV achievements with the new content.
