Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 achievements explode onto Xbox as a DLC pack

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches next week, and we now have its Xbox achievement list, which is listed as a DLC pack, thanks to the new Call of Duty HQ.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III's campaign launching for early access players today, and the highly-anticipated first-person shooter launching in full on November 10, its achievement list has now gone live. Rather confusingly, as part of Activision's move over to a unified Call of Duty launcher, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III achievements have scanned in as a DLC pack for Modern Warfare 2.

If you thought Activision naming the new Modern Warfares after their earlier counterparts was confusing, boy, things are about to get even more weird. The new Call of Duty launcher, which is called Call of Duty HQ (but is weirdly named just Call of Duty on the Microsoft Store), is now being treated as a hub for the most recent Modern Warfare games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III now come up as DLC packs for Call of Duty HQ — Call of Duty: Warzone also comes under HQ, but we don't need to worry about that in terms of achievements as it doesn't have any.

On TrueAchievements, we now have the Call of Duty page set up with both the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II achievements and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III achievements set separately, which means you can complete each pack and filter out the completion with your site DLC settings.

With that mess out of the way, let's have a look at the actual achievements. The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III achievement list looks to be your typical Modern Warfare list. However, for the first time in the Modern Warfare series, MWIII has a Zombies mode, and we have some Zombies-related achievements to unlock. The new Modern Warfare Zombies mode (MWZ) will have you team up with other squads to fight hordes of the undead in an open-world PvE extraction survival experience.
