It seems that Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 could be in development after both were mentioned on a LinkedIn profile of a former Gearbox employee.

New entries into the Borderlands and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands series could be on the way, as mentions of Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 have been spotted on the LinkedIn profile of Randel Reiss, the former studio technical director of a Gearbox support studio Lost Boys Interactive.

While neither game has yet been formally announced by Gearbox, Reiss' profile states that they planned and engineered "development on Borderlands 4 UE4" and "Tiny Tina's Wonderland 2 UE4," as well as multiple other games from publisher Take-Two. The LinkedIn profile doesn't indicate any sort of timeline, so it's unknown how far along these games are in development.

Of course, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that a possible new Borderlands game is in development, considering it's Gearbox's biggest franchise. Borderlands 3, which was released in 2019, is 2K's "fastest-selling title" and has sold over 18 million copies, according to Take-Two's latest financial report.

As for fantasy spin-off Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford previously said that Gearbox has a "new franchise" on its hands after it "shattered all of our target expectations, both critically and commercially."

In September, it was claimed that Embracer Group was considering selling off Gearbox as part of its huge restructuring program. One major casualty from this restructuring is the loss of Saints Row developer Volition, which was recently shut down by Embracer.
