Back 4 Blood is the latest co-op shooter from Left 4 Dead developer, Turtle Rock Studios. Take on the role of a human survivor, team up with some buddies, and attempt to eradicate hordes of parasite-infected ‘Ridden’ from the city. ChernobyliteRelease: JulyPlay as a physicist in search of his missing wife in a non-linear survival horror RPG. Chernobylite is set within a digitally recreated Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, and features otherworldly creatures that have escaped through a breach that links our realm with theirs.Dead Static DriveRelease: 2021Dead Static Drive is a top-down horror survival adventure that’s described by the developer as “Grand Theft Cthulhu.” You need to find a way to survive your road trip and reach your family by any means possible. The artwork and atmosphere here looks awesome, and ticks all of the right boxes for a comic book-style cosmic horror adventure.The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of AshesRelease: 2021The third entry into the Dark Pictures Anthology series, House of Ashes takes players to a Sumerian temple buried beneath Iraq. Uncovered by a group of Special Forces soldiers looking for weapons at the end of the Iraq War, the temple holds a nest of ancient unearthly creatures. The team will need to work with the people they once called enemies if they hope to survive.Dying Light 2Release: TBCInformation surrounding Dying Light 2 has been slim since the game’s announcement in 2018, but Techland has said that more details will be released a little later this year. Play as Aiden Caldwell to fight the infected hordes during the night and human survivors during the day in a bid to save the people of a decaying city. Evil Dead: The GameRelease: 2021The team that brought us the zombie swarming fun of World War Z is now tackling the horror classic featuring Ash Williams. In Evil Dead: The Game, you can take control of Ash or one of his friends in a co-op battle against the creatures of the Necronomicon. You’ll need to work as a team to close the breach between worlds, or work against each other in PvP online matches. The game is inspired by the three original Evil Dead films and the Ash vs Evil Dead TV show.In Sound MindRelease: August 3rdUncover the secrets of a town and the unsettling story it holds through memories in this psychological horror adventure. It’s probably best not to play this if you have any fears of faceless dolls... or any dolls, really. In Sound Mind features boss fights, fast-paced puzzles, and a soundtrack that features original music by The Living Tombstone.Martha is DeadRelease: 2021Your twin sister is found dead in Tuscany during World War II and you're left to look for answers to explain her demise. The story features mysterious folklore that unravels as the horrors of war bear down on you and treats you to an experience of psychological stress. Will you be able to find out what happened to your sister?Observer: System ReduxRelease: July 16thSure, Observer: System Redux has been out on Xbox Series X|S for a while, but now it’s being released on Xbox One and as a physical edition. For that reason, it definitely makes this list due to the game’s upgraded visuals and fantastic four-star user rating here on TA. Observer takes you on a journey into other people’s dreams, in a dystopian future. While we’re on the Bloober Team bandwagon, it’s worth noting that The Medium will also be released as a physical edition later this year — another solid creepy game, if you've not tried it out yet.Once Upon a Time in RoswellRelease: 2021Announced a few years ago — then titled The Peterson Case — Once Upon a Time in Roswell has had a bit of a bumpy development, but is now expected to release later this year. You play as a detective attempting to find a missing family in this first-person psychological horror game. While investigating the family’s home, you’ll encounter unknown entities and witness horrifying flashbacks. The Outlast TrialsRelease: 2021The third instalment in the Outlast series, The Outlast Trials will venture into a new way of experiencing the terrifying world: co-op mode. The game will be accessible for solo play, but why take on the horrors alone? You play as an unfortunate guinea pig for the scientists at the Murkoff Corporation, who will use you to test methods of mind-control and brainwashing. There's no official information saying whether this will come to Xbox, but seeing as the last two titles have, it’s a pretty safe bet that it will.Quantum ErrorRelease: 2021Labelled as a cosmic horror FPS, Quantum Error sends you on a mission to save as many people as you can from a facility engulfed in flames. This won't be a simple search-and-rescue job, though, as things aren't quite as they seem when you reach the site, and all kinds of interdimensional intruders seem hell-bent on getting in your way.ScornRelease: 2021If you watched the trailer and had no idea what you were looking at, the team has accomplished what they set out to do. In Scorn, you’ll be thrust into a world of fleshy nightmares and biomechanical weirdness, lost and isolated. The team at Ebb Software describe it as an “atmospheric first-person horror adventure,” and by the looks of it, they’ve hit the nail on the head.Song of HorrorRelease: May 28thIn Song of Horror, you’ll experience the story of 13 characters who are haunted by an evil entity called the Presence. The catch? This entity adapts to the way you play, ensuring you’re in for a scare at all times. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the narrator from the trailer will be following us on the journey.State of Decay 3Release: TBCNot much is known about State of Decay 3, except that it has a zombie deer in it. It was announced last year but since then, the studio has been very quiet.
